205 Series
(By toshinori baba - CC0)
Introducing
The 205 series (205系, 205-kei) (205けいでんしゃ/205 keidensha or 205系電車) is a type of electric multiple unit (EMU), used for commuter and suburban services, introduced in 1985 by Japan National Railways (JNR), and currently operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in Greater Tokyo, West Japan Railway Company (JR West) in Keihanshin, and KAI Commuter in Indonesia.
This model appeared in 1985, at the end of the JNR period, as an energy-efficient commuter train to replace the 103 and 201 series, and even after the division and privatization of JNR, JR East and JR West continued to increase the number of cars via orders, and eventually 1,461 cars were produced.
Console detail
Senseki line (ATS-Ps + ATACS)
On the far left, we have the brake levels, with a yellow line on level 6 to indicate the level to apply when stopping and indicator for emergency brake in red (非常).
Then, at the top, we have the ATS-Ps display.
Below, on the left, 2 lights (unused) to indicate whether the next station is a stop (on the left - 停車) or just a passage (on the right - 通過). Still below, we have the brake pressure level (black arrow) and the compressed air reservoir (red arrow). Then we have the speed dial with the green ATACS speed limit indicators (and the light above telling us to brake if the limit is dropping, if it's on).
Then comes the lock indicator and the pocket watch.
Finally, we have various indicators for ATACS and ATS:

ATACS screen
The single screen contains some information about the line, when you're on the section using ATACS.
The left-hand column contains no relevant information.
The middle column contains several items of information:
- the distance to the next stop signal (not the distance to the next station stop)
- The next kilometer ahead. A white rectangle on the right means a station. An orange line means a level crossing.
- The name of the next station (here Rikuzen-Takasago/陸前高砂).
- The stop or passage indication for the next station.
Finally, the last column displays, from top to bottom, the current speed, distance travelled, type of journey and train number.
Nambu/Tsurumi line (ATS-P)
On the far left, we have the brake levels with an indicator for emergency brake in red (非常).
On the left, we have several indicators on the top part, and at the bottom part, we have the brake pressure level (black arrow) and the compressed air reservoir (red arrow). Then we have the speed dial.
Here is the translation of the indicators:

209 series
(By MaedaAkihiko - CC BY-SA 4.0)
Introducing
The 209 series (209系電車, 209 Keidensha) is a type of Japanese DC multiple unit operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), which appeared at the end of 1992 and currently operates mainly on Tokyo's outer suburban lines.
They were originally intended to operate on the Keihin Tohoku and Negishi lines, to replace the 103 series old trainsets, which were taken over from the Japanese National Railways (JNR) (discontinued in 1987) in large quantities and deteriorated through heavy use, and partly to increase the line's transport capacity.

(By MaedaAkihiko - CC BY-SA 4.0)
Introducing
The 211 series (211系, 211-kei) (211けいでんしゃ/211 keidensha or 211系電車) is a type of self-propelled electric trainset operating at 1.5kV DC, used for Japanese commuter and suburban services, introduced in 1985 (Shōwa 60) by JNR, and currently still operated in the Tōkai and Kantō region by JR East, and JR Central (Tokai).
This series was developed to replace the obsolete 111, 113 and 115 series as an entirely new commuter train.
Détail de la console
To the left of the console, we have car numbers and door opening status (red indicator = doors open).
In the center, we have :
- At the top, the ATS-Ps display
- Bottom left, speed dial
- In the center, the lock indicator and a bit of the pocket watch
- Bottom right: brake cylinder pressure (black arrow) and compressed-air reservoir pressure (red arrow).
Note that the speed-limiting brake is located on the brake lever, between neutral and brake level 1.
Finally, on the far right, we have the brake level (with emergency brake indicator in red and speed limitation indicator in yellow).
At the top, next to the TIMS display is the ATS-P panel.
Consult the MON/TIMS/INTEROS screen page for more details about the TIMS screen.

Introducing
The E129 series (E129系, E129-kei) is a type of electric multiple unit operated by JR East on lines in the Niigata region.
The E129 series was manufactured by J-TREC to replace the aging 115 series. It is part of the “sustina” range.

E217 series
(By MaedaAkihiko - CC BY-SA 4.0)
Introducing
The E217 series (E217系, E217-kei) (E217けいでんしゃ/E217 Keidensha or JR東日本E217系電車/JR Higashinihon E 217-kei densha)is a type of electric multiple unit used for commuter and outer suburban services operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in Japan since 1994 (Heisei 6) on the Sōbu and Yokosuka lines.
Introduced in 1994 to replace the 113 series EMUs running on the Sōbu (fast) line and the Yokosuka line, it was the first type of commuter train in Japan to feature four pairs of doors per side on the car (at the same time as the 209 series). The basic design was developed from the 209 series commuter EMUs. It replaced all Yokosuka Line 113 series trains in 1999. The trains were built jointly by Kawasaki Heavy Industries , Tokyu Car and JR East (Niitsu and Ofuna plants).

E233 series
(By MaedaAkihiko - CC BY-SA 4.0)
Introducing
The E233 series (E233系, E233-kei) is a type of self-propelled trainset operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) on several rail lines in Greater Tokyo.
The E231 series, which was launched in large numbers in the Tokyo metropolitan area from 1999, was developed as the main model representing JR East. It came in several versions. However, from 2005 onwards, an evolution of the equipment was necessary. The E233 Series will incorporate the technology evolutions since the last E231 (-1000) series released a few years earlier.
The E233 Series was unveiled by JR East in October 2005 as the replacement for the 201 Series on the Chūō, Ōme and Itsukaichi lines. The first trainset entered commercial service on December 26, 2006.
Eventually the E233 series will replace a lot of older equipment and lead to the shifting of assignments of moderately old equipment.
Console detail
Apart from the pocket watch and the door-closing indicator in the center of the console, there are 2 displays: one for train technical info and the other is the MON/TIMS/INTEROS screen.
The train technical info screen displays electrical voltages and various indicators at the top that changes according to the line (see below).
The bottom area contains:
- Brake level and indicators for emergency brake in red (非常) and speed limit in green (抑速) if available.
- Brake cylinder pressure (BC)
- Main air reservoir pressure (MR). Note that if this falls below the red zone (780kPa), the compressor starts up.
- Speed dial, with speed limit (on D-ATC/ATACS).
